Rock Creek - June 2009

We had a great trip to Rock Creek this weekend. Rock Creek is above Lake Crowley just south of Mammoth. We really enjoyed being outdoors and Jack loved the fishing and boating. You can see all of the pics at http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=503044&l=6dfe702aaf&id=1092219475.

Tennessee

We just got back yesterday from a week in Tennessee. We went for Jordan's graduation, but we also did some siteseeing including Graceland and downtown Memphis. We also got to see Jordan go to his first prom. We didn't see much of him because he was busy hanging out with his new girlfriend. Tory and Ken's house is beautiful. Potty Training

We are so excited that Jack is potty training. It's going slowly but surely. The major side effect is that he has to get entirely naked to use the potty and then does not want to put his clothes back on! I shot this picture of him in the back yard climbing on the fence yesterday. I realize that soon he will be too old for mom to post naked pics.... but not YET!

Visit with Paul and Julie

We went to Paul and Julie's house in Malibu last night for dinner. It was great. I hadn't seen him in 9 years and had never met their kids. They had never met Rich or Jack. It was a nice visit and it felt like not a day had passed. Jack really enjoyed playing with Caroline and going to the ocean.

New Skateboard

Jack got a new Spongebob Squarepants skateboard and he loves it. Of course I'm worried that he'll kill himself on it but he's very careful. Getting him to wear a helmet is a little bit of a challenge. Knowing him, he'll be Tony Hawk in no time!

Weekend with Calla and Nolan

Calla and Nolan visited us this weekend and we had a great time. We drove to Rob's new house at Canyon Lake and the kids had a blast. Jack and Nolan got along well and we hope to see them again soon.

A Day at the Races

We went to Santa Anita last weekend to watch the races. Rich really went to schmooze for a company function and we tagged along. We were at a picnic area in the infield and spent alot of time at the playground. It was fun to watch the races but sad to see how empty the stadium was. A sign of the times I suppose.

Valentines Day

This was our first night out for Valentines Day in a LONG time. Rich made reservations at The Penthouse in Santa Monica. It used to be Toppers and we went there for our 1st anniversary. The view was beautiful and the food was great.

Sweetheart Gala

Rich and I were invited to the Sweetheart Gala at the local hospital on Friday night. My boss and his wife were honored as the Sweetheart Couple. It was a nice evening and was fun to get dressed up and go out. The food was fantastic. Rich looked great in his suit and was a trooper to go considering that he was in the hospital with pericarditis again this week.

Outlet Shopping

This is how excited the boys are to be shopping at the outlets. They must love me to put up with this!

Driving

Jack loves to go to Sharon's house and drive the golf carts.

Bike Riding

Jack's been enjoying the weather and riding his bike as much as possible. He got a real bike with training wheels for Christmas but he still prefers the Big Wheel.

Fun Times

These are pictures of Jack painting cookies with me and making Play Doh pigs with Rich. I forgot how much fun kids' toys can be.

Christmas Eve

Sharon joined us on Christmas Eve for dinner and gifts. As usual she thoroughly spoiled Jack and he was very sad when she had to leave. As you can see... he really liked the gifts.

Christmas

We have a very nice Christmas. It was the first time Jack has been excited about presents, although he doesn't quite get the idea of Santa yet (so it's probably that last year we'll sleep after 6am).

California Science Center

Jack and I went to the California Science Center with friends and he had a blast. He really liked pushing all of the buttons and looking at the exhibits. I think his favorite part was playing with the toy airplanes and wearing the astronaut hat.

NFL Training

We are pretty impressed with Jack's ability to catch and throw a full size football. Then again.... we ARE his parents.
